Funding Opportunity for NVO-Enabled Research Initiatives
  
The U.S. National Virtual Observatory project is initiating a program of
community research support, entitled "NVO Research Initiatives." The
principal objective is to seed NVO-enabled research and to expand NVO
applications by providing financial support for small, start-up research
projects. The areas of research to be supported by this program may be in
any subfield of astronomy and astrophysics, but particular attention should
be given to use of NVO-enabled facilities and tools in carrying out the
proposed research. The total amount of stipends to be awarded will be
approximately US$400,000, and the amount of each research stipend will be
US$25,000 for one year. Proposals are due by 1 October 2005. Additional
