*** Registration Deadline: 11 August

The early registration deadline for ADASS XVI is fast approaching. We
encourage you to visit the conference web site at:

      http://adass.org/adass2006/

and register by the end of the day on 11 August in order to avoid the
higher registration fee that will apply after that date. Please note
that you _must_ provide payment information (the last step in the
registration process) by the deadline in order to avoid the higher fee.
Those who have made a preliminary registration but _without_ payment
credentials should provide them prior to the deadline in order to avoid
the higher fee.

Registrants who are requesting the discounted student rate should have
a letter sent by an official of their school or university to the ADASS
Local Organizing Committee prior to the conference. The letter must
certify your status as a student, must appear on your university's
letterhead, and be signed by a university official or faculty member.
Scanned electronic versions (PDF, jpeg, etc.) sent by e-mail to
adass2006 at adass.org are preferred, but a hardcopy sent to the LOC (see
the address on the website) is also acceptable.

*** Updates to Your Registration Information

If you visit the registration area of the conference website, your
contact information, event selections, and presentation abstracts are
all saved for future access. You may update this information at any
time prior through early October by revisiting the registration page
and logging in with your username (the e-mail address you used when
registering) and the password that was sent to you in the confirmation
message.

*** Abstract Deadline: 11 August

The deadline for abstracts for the oral program is also approaching. The
Program Organizing Committee will select presentations for the oral
program from authors who have expressed this preference. In order to be
eligible for an oral presentation, you must submit your abstract by the
abstract deadline. Abstracts for poster presentations will continue to
be accepted on a space-available basis.

*** BoF Proposal Deadline: 1 September

If you wish to propose a Birds of a Feather (BoF) session, you must do so
by 1 September. BoF proposal submission instructions may be found on the
conference web site by following the link to "BoF solicitation."
