[Adass-announce] Second announcement: ADASS XXIX, 6-10 October 2019, Groningen, The Netherlands

Dear Colleagues,

A reminder that some deadlines for ADASS XXIX are coming up:

o August 1st is the deadline for making bookings at the negotiated group rates. Note that you if you miss this, you can still make a booking, but will have to do so through the hotels directly. You will not get the group rate, but you may find other offers available. Please note that the individual hotels may have different cancellation policies.

o The deadline for early registration for ADASS XXIX is August 30th. You may still register after this deadline but at an increased cost.

o August 30th is also the deadline for requesting a Demo Booth.

o September 6th is the deadline for submitting abstracts for poster presentations. Poster space is limited to 200, and we will have to stop accepting new abstracts if we hit that cap, so you should submit your abstract early if possible.

o The deadline for signing up for tutorials will be September 18th.

Astronomical Data Analysis Software and Systems (ADASS) Conference Series

Mark your calendars for the 29th annual conference on Astronomical Data Analysis Software and Systems (http://adass.org).
The conference will be held on 6-10 October 2019, hosted by ASTRON, JIVE, the ALMA European Regional Centre, University of Groningen, Universiteit Leiden, Universiteit van Amsterdam, Radboud University, and SRON.

This annual conference, held in a different location each year, is a forum for astronomers, computer scientists, software engineers, faculty members and students working in areas related to algorithms, software and systems for the acquisition, reduction, analysis, and dissemination of astronomical data.

The ADASS XXIX program will include invited talks, contributed papers, display sessions, tutorials, computer demonstrations, and special interest ("Birds of a Feather" or BoF) meetings, as well as a community-based Hackathon preceeding the meeting.
These activities aim to encourage communication between software specialists and scientists, and to stimulate further development of software and systems to meet the data science challenges of astronomy.
