Mark your calendars for the 23nd annual conference on Astronomical
Data Analysis Software and Systems (ADASS, http://adass.org). The
conference will be held September 29 to October 3 2013 at the Waikoloa
Beach Marriott in Waikoloa, Hawaii, USA.

This annual conference, held in a different location each year,
provides a forum for scientists and programmers concerned with
algorithms, software and software systems employed in the acquisition,
reduction, analysis, and dissemination of astronomical data. The
program includes invited talks, contributed papers, display sessions,
tutorials, computer demonstrations, and special interest ("Birds of a
Feather" or BoF) meetings. These activities aim to encourage
communication between software specialists and scientists, as well as
stimulate further development of astronomical software and systems.

This year ADASS XXIII will include a tour of the Mauna Kea summit, a
Luau dinner and a outreach star gazing evening at the Marriott that
will demonstrate some usage of software and computers with small
telescopes. The key topics for this year's conference include:

- Ground Based Observatories - from operations to archive.
- Planetary Systems - here and elsewhere.
- Cosmology Challenges - now and in the future.
- Emerging Technologies - innovations in DB, VO and others.
- User Interfaces - GUIs, WUIs and all those.

Our main program will include world-class invited speakers, the process of
inviting them is on-going, they will be announced at a later point in time.

We encourage you to participate in this exciting conference by
submitting an oral or poster abstract, a demonstration, or a BoF
proposal. We will also accept requests for financial aid.
Registration and abstract submission will begin in early May; further
information can be found at the ADASS conference web site at
http://adass2013.cfht.hawaii.edu

In order to prepare well in advance the main program of the conference
and help you planning your attendance, we want to select Tutorials well
in advance this year. For this reason we call already for tutorial proposals
(sending an e-mail to loc_adass_2013 at cfht.hawaii.edu) and set the
deadline to 31. May 2013.

Best regards,

Daniel Devost on behalf of the ADASS XXIII LOC.
Carlos Gabriel on behalf of the ADASS POC.
