Hi everyone,

The ADASS Program Organizing Committee would like to announce a new
software prize. This prize will be awarded every year at the ADASS
conference for "An outstanding contribution to astronomical software".

You can submit nominations at tricider:
http://www.tricider.com/brainstorming/3PsVD2LJqDR

Please nominate the software and the author(s) of the software. Under
"Pros and cons", briefly describe why this software should receive the
prize. You can add arguments pro or con a existing nomination. However
you cannot vote for it; voting has been disabled for this tricider.
You can make multiple nominations. Note that you do not have to
register with tricider in order to add a nomination.

Nominations can be for software that has stood the test of time, or a
recent development. Nominations can be for an individual or a
group. Nominations can be a single program, a package or a library.

Nominations close May 15. At that point, the POC will review the
nominations and descriptions and determine the winner. The winning
software author, or a representative of the winning team, will be
invited to give a talk at ADASS that year, have their ADASS conference
fee waived, and receive a plaque.

Sincerely,
Kathleen Labrie,
Stephen Gwyn,
On behalf of the ADASS Program Organizing Committee
